        During our five-night stay at the Westin Grand in Berlin, we found it to be a commendable hotel overall. While there were a few areas that left us somewhat disappointed, we would still rate it as a solid 4 stars. The positives: 1) Our room was incredibly spacious, and we were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a suite. This proved especially useful with two little kids, as we had the convenience of two bathrooms. 2) The hotel staff, from the reception to the concierge, were great. A special mention goes to the Westin Club staff, who were not only friendly but also worked diligently to manage the bustling atmosphere. Despite the crowded lounge, they made sure to attend to each family or table individually. 3) The Westin Club offered a variety of appealing food options. And again, amazing staff! Not sure if I can mention names but L and G really showed us the true meaning hospitality. The drawbacks: 1) While housekeeping generally did a good job, we noticed a shortage of hand soap and tissues. Throughout our five-night stay, we were only provided with body wash instead of hand soap. Additionally, when we ran out of tissues, we observed that housekeeping refilled with only a small number (5 tissues) instead of providing a new box. On several days, the tissues were not replenished at all. 2) The breakfast experience at the main restaurant in the lobby was average. The restaurant seemed noticeably understaffed, with servers working tirelessly but struggling to keep up. This led to many empty tables with dirty plates and cups from previous customers. Out of the four days we had breakfast there, three times we sat at uncleaned tables, waiting for someone to assist us. 3) The baby crib provided was disappointing. While encountering old and dirty cribs in hotels is not uncommon, we had higher expectations for a Westin Grand. Despite bringing our own crib sheets, we discovered food and other stains on the crib. Although we attempted to clean it with sanitizing wipes, it remained too dirty for use, and we ultimately chose not to use the crib.

        The staff in the hotel is very friendly, but there were some internal communication issues,' because even though I had agreed with the hotel management on our room upgrade in advance, on arrival, nothing was ready and I was informed later by the reception that the information hadn't been passed on to them. There were some other confusing messages coming from reception the following day, but I don't want to go further into any details. All in all, the stay was pleasant.

        Clean and spacious rooms. Very good shower with great pressure. I did have an issue with the aircon not working and was offered a fan which they had ran out of. So they offered to unlock the window. So while there was an issue it was handled really well. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming.

        The beds are very comfortable. The room is a bit old style. I was very impress by the service of Miss Liliana at the Club lounge. She is very attentive and nice. She jokes and work hard. She give extra attention to the guests. Well done Liliana

        The hotel is nice and clean, the bed is very comfortable. What I don’t like is that the hotel pool is open till 19 o’clock when you have a child and 21 if you are with no kids. There is no lifeguards on the pool, which I was thinking it’s the reason for the difference in the open hours, but I was explained it is because the guests with no kids can enjoy and relax. At the same time I wanted to used the sauna which is also part of the spa center, but as a lady I was shocked to find out that is full with mainly naked men. Maybe this is a German culture, but for me is inappropriate in a public sauna in an international hotel to be with people who without any hesitation seat and walk in front of you totally naked.
