This is a lovely, boutique style hotel in the center of the action in Playa del Carmen. The staff were kind and welcoming from the moment we entered the hotel. We spent most of our time down at the Beach House enjoying the ocean, sun, food, sand and wonderful service they have in that location. The access to the amenities of the Beach House is one of the main reasons to stay at the Thompson Playa Del Carmen Main House. In terms of negatives: it's true that the temperature of the water in the showers isn't steaming hot. It's warm. But it's the tropics, so I didn't really mind this. What truly made our stay was the kindness of the staff in both locations.

There’s currently NO A/C at the property. An on going issue for a couple months. It would have been nice to know this before booking. Me and some friends came to this place because of its pictures and location. Overall is okay I guess.. But none of the rooms have AC. There was an incident a couple months back (fire) and now all rooms smell strange. I tried to get the issue resolved but instead they kept giving me false hope. I left the hotel before my vacation was over. I was promised as refund but that never came. Again is an OKAY resort, but they currently have issues they can’t fix. If you’re okay with the heat from playa, no AC at night and the funny smell. You got a really nice place in the middle of everything.

This hotel refuses to refund $2,000+ we are owed. I don't say this lightly, but I no longer recommend anyone stay here as this hotel completely ignores any of our attempts to amicably refund us the over $2000 we are owed. I say that as someone who used to be a fan of this hotel, visiting 4 years in a row. With our most recent stay, they did not provide the proper $2,000+ refund amount from the initial authorization charge. And over the past 2 months, we have called and emailed the hotel directly across various email addresses with clear evidence from invoices. However, this hotel staff has refused to respond to any of our communications attempts to get the refund normally and amicably. They refuse to even respond, let alone respond back with any disputes to the claim amount. This has forced us to pursue with Hyatt Corporate as well as through credit card disputes. This has been a massive headache and I don't recommend anyone stay at this hotel any longer.

Be forewarned: if you are staying on the street side of the hotel, bring ear plugs and over the ear headphones to be able to sleep. The staff and hotel are very nice, but we were facing a club BLASTING music until 4 am. We had to get eat plugs from the front desk and those only muffled the noise but we were still unable to sleep. Hotel staff response was that we’re on the street so noise is to be expected. I agree to a degree of persons/cars, but have a hookah bar with huge speakers going until 4 am was were I drew the line. Hyatt did not offer a refund because the noise was not coming from the hotel. Overall experience is why I rate this as 1/5 stars. Would recommend if you’re looking to be going all night and not trying to sleep.

Very noisy all night do to surrounding businesses. The bed is comfortable and the pool is very lively on the weekends. If you’re looking for some adult fun and party time this is a good place

Booking Policy

It is mandatory for all guests to present valid government photo ID’s at the time of check-in.

The primary guests check-in into the hotel must meet the age requirements set by either the local government or the hotel’s policies.

Extra guests are subject to availability. And it might incur additional charges.

If guests are traveling with a child or children, it is necessary to specify the number of children accompanying them during the hotel booking process to avoid any last-minute complications.

Underage guests are only allowed to check-in with at least one parent or official guardian who fulfils the age requirements set by either the local government or the hotel’s policies.

Early check-in or late check-out request is subject to availability and the hotel may charge an additional fee for providing such services.

The price paid to Adani One includes room charges, taxes, the specified inclusions mentioned during the booking and convenience fee, if appliable. It does not cover additional services and expenses at the hotel.

Taxes, levies, charges, and any similar government fees, if applicable, will be imposed by the relevant authorities in the jurisdiction where the hotel is located. The guest is responsible for paying all such charges, as applicable.

Guests are required to adhere to any special instructions provided by the hotel. Failure to comply may result in the hotel's right to deny the booking or terminate the stay immediately.

For any special requests, please write in the designated section while booking on the Adani One platform. Hotel Cancellation Policy

User can cancel their booking through the Adani One website or app until the check-in date and time. The refund for such cancellations will be subject to the hotel's cancellation policy. Adani One has no say over the refund amount.

Users can only cancel the entire booking. Partial cancellations, such as canceling specific room(s), a portion of the total nights, or specific guests out of the entire group, are not permitted.

User should not cancel the booking directly with the hotel. If a user cancels the booking directly with the hotel, Adani One will not be responsible for any refund.

Cancellation requests made through the online platform or via phone calls are the only valid and accepted methods.

Any cancellation requests made directly to the hotel will not be the responsibility of Adani One.

If you fail to cancel your reservation within the designated cancellation period, as specified by the hotel you booked, you will be responsible for paying the applicable nightly rates, tax recovery charges, and service fees imposed by the hotel. If you do not show up for the first night of your reservation but still plan to check in for the remaining nights, you must inform Adani One of any changes to your reservation no later than the scheduled arrival date for the first night. This is necessary to prevent the cancellation of your entire reservation.

In case of no show at the hotel, you'll be charged the entire booking amount.

Modification and Reschedule Policy

Once the booking is initiated, the user can’t change the name of primary guest, number of guests, age of child/children, number of rooms, and check-in/check-out date and time.

After the booking is confirmed, user will need to cancel their existing booking to create a new one to make any changes such as updating the primary guest, modifying the number of guests, specifying the age of child/children, adjusting the number of rooms, or changing the check-in/check-out date and time etc.
