Overpriced poor quality accommodation. We stayed for a weekend in the so-called Motor Lodge. The rooms haven't been renovated since the 1970s. They are nothing like the photos on the website. There was painters tape left on all of the windows. Looked like it had been there for years. The bathroom has no extractor fan. There were areas of mould around the toilet and behind the door. The paint behind the toilet was peeling. There was a hole in the wall that had been plastered very roughly. The cover plate on one of the power plugs in the kitchen was broken. Couch and chairs were old and uncomfortable. The mattresses were old and moved around every time you moved. Access into and around the site is very difficult. Hence 1 star for location. The office closes early in the evening (not mentioned on the website) Friends who had been in the camping ground said the communal bathrooms were in very poor condition. And yet they charge same rates as other hotels and motels in the area.

Really nice camp ground, the birds and the trees added to the tranquil surrounding. Easy check in. Ladies showers were awesome!!! People were nice and friendly. Wouldn't think you were in the middle of Auckland City. Great takeaway not far, Upland Takeaways, highly recommend this place. Great place to stay!!!

Rupid & Lisa are warm & welcoming people. They made us feel safe during our stay & we cannot thank them enough for their help. Touch Wood Inn offers pleasant surroundings, all kitchen amenities, a large swimming pool accompanied by warm & friendly locals. Our stay was memorable. Recommend & will visit again.
