Stayed in many Toyoko Inn. This is equally good, but I must say particularly the location of this branch. It is very accessable from Ikebukuro Station (6 mins walk), however, it is located at the fringe of night spots area. You will find many pubs here & most with ladies' dresses in cute outfits that will join you. Just be careful & go to those that openly informed on their charge. Real busy street in the evening till late & pretty quite in the day time. For safety, not to worry because it is very safe. This branch is a bit small & as usual, the free breakfast is its attraction.

My go to place when staying in Tokyo. It's about an 8 minute walk from the North exit of JR Ikebukuro station. The station itself has 3 major rail lines and 4 subway lines all passing through it. There are a lot of restaurants in this part of town.

Well known chain of hotels in Japan. Tiniest rooms I have seen in ages but very very efficient use of space. Check in to the hotel is only at 3pm!! So be prepared for a long wait to get into your rooms if you come before. The breakfast is also very Japanese and not much options available.

Nice.cheap hotel. Front desk staff are so friendly and helpful that handled to us towels when we got in socking wet from the typhoon rain. They should eliminate smoking rooms.

Decent room size as per Tokyo's standards. Very near ~200 meters from North exit of JR Ikebukoro station. Multiple eating joints of various cuisines available around. Friendly staff. Breakfast served but very little non Jap food options
