UNAHOTELS Trastevere Roma

We stayed here last January and have just stayed here again last week. My review from last year is below, and I wanted to update it after our most recent stay - Things are just as they were then, and that is a great thing! Our second stay here was very good and we are happy we chose this hotel again. It’s comfortable, in a great location, the staff is friendly and the breakfast is good. Above all, the rooms are quiet! The best way I can describe it is like a middle-of-the-road Marriott/Hilton that’s a few years old. You won’t walk away with it having been the best hotel stay of your life, but it’s good enough that you would come back and recommend it to your friends. Rooms - Spacious, comfortable, clean. The bed is big, on the firmer side and VERY cozy. Slept like a baby. My biggest gripe is that there are stains on ALL the walls. Either people aren’t careful with their suitcases or they cheaped out on the paint. It’s a small thing considering how clean the rooms are, but still worth highlighting. Location - Superb. Trastevere is our favourite neighbourhood in Rome. You can walk to the busier parts very easily and there are plenty of amazing restaurants nearby. Go to Popi Popi and thank me later!’ Breakfast - A little bit of everything in the buffet. Coffee is a la carte and always made with a smile. Staff - Friendly, courteous and helpful! We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Review of our January 2023 stay - We had a great four night stay in this hotel! The location is superb for exploring Trastevere and Rome – there are fantastic restaurants within walking distance. All the staff we interacted with were very courteous, friendly and happy to help, particularly Jessica who helped us change our room when we realised it faced the inner courtyard and not the street! The building and rooms themselves are new and clean. I was surprised at just how many smudges from people opening suitcases were on our walls (considering how new the hotel is), but I fully appreciate they can’t be patching these up every week (and that some guests might not be that careful). The breakfast we had included in our stay was great too! You can order as many espresso-based coffees as you’d like and the food is a nice mix of bread, pastries, meats, cheeses, scrambled eggs, bacon and other bits. It didn’t blow us away, but it’s perfectly fine for starting the day with. On the day we left there was no problem with leaving our bags at reception after checking out, which was great. The reason I’ve not given a full five stars is because it would have been nice if there were a few more hot options with breakfast! Perhaps some cooked mushrooms? Other than that, it would have also been nice if the TVs had the ability to cast Netflix/Youtube to unwind after a long day of exploring. We had a great stay here and wouldn’t hesitate to come back or recommend this hotel to others.

We loved our stay at Unahotels in Trastevere. Before booking please know they require payment before your stay or they will cancel your booking. The staff at this location was incredible. Always willing to go above & beyond. John Marco, our bartender, was incredible & made wonderful drinks and gave excellent service every time. Our room was attended to every day but tissue & some other minor things had to be requested once empty. Amenities (like slippers) are included but also need to be requested. Our shower was mostly clean except the bottoms where water hits - lots of mold. For $500 a night, this should be addressed. Overall a great stay. If we were in Rome again, this is where we would stay!
