Unexpectedly excellent. This is how a 4 star hotel should be. Room was great. A coffee / tea maker would be a nice plus. Very clean. Shower, heating, all great. Stuff discreet, friendly, current. Really good breakfast. Quiet, discreet, not too much, not too little - exactly right. Btw, the windows in the room open - important for me as I tend to feel I suffocate in small spaces without easy access to fresh air .

Wonderful hotel in a nicer quieter area of town. Was visiting for Oktoberfest and sightseeing. The staff was amazing and always friendly. Initially was concerned about no AC but they had fans and it was never an issue despite the warmer weather. Nice coffee shop around the corner and only a 5 min walk to the subway. Also liked the proximity to English garden. Will definitely come back if visiting Munich

The service and location of this hotel are top notch. Not far from the English Gardens, which are beautiful, and close to the Ubahn for anyone needing to get around town. As others have noted, the rooms are small, but if you know that ahead of time, it's not a big deal. I am not sure staying here in Summer would be ideal, since there is no AC, but it was just fine for the fall with windows open and fans on. The service here was fantastic and they have a nice area in the back of the hotel for relaxing while enjoying a beer from their bar.

We've just had a 4 night stay at Unsölds, the hotel is an easy 3 minute walk to the nearest u-bahn station, or a 15-20 minute walk into Marienplatz, and to the Frauenkirche, Hofbräuhaus etc. The hotel itself has a great modern vibe, really clean and well presented rooms and exceptionally friendly service from all the staff, particularly Yonko in the bar! It was the perfect base for exploring this beauful city and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Munich.

Whilst a lot of thought and care has gone into the decoration of this hotel, and it does look really good, there are two major downsides for me. Firstly, we booked a standard room and it was tiny, only really suitable for one person, not two. The bathroom was not suitable for larger people due to the lack of space. Secondly, the rooms lack air conditioning and this is a real problem in warm weather We hardly slept due to the heat, and the fan provided by the hotel doesn't suffice. Other than that, it's in a great location, in a quiet area with some nice restaurants nearby. The service from the staff we encountered was always very helpful and friendly. As stated, the hotel does look good and was very clean and well maintained. However, the downsides mentioned would put me off returning to this particular hotel, which is a real shame.
