        Very nice hotel, although it is on the pricier side. It’s about a 10 minute walk from the nearest train station and there is a bus stop right outside that can bring you to Kyoto castle. The shower is in the bathtub which is fine, many of the rooms come with a balcony which is handy.

        We stayed several days here and found that this hotel is in the middle of many places of interest ( by bus ) . Eateries and grocery stores are nearby . Most importantly, the room we stayed in was clean and spacious . If you can not speak and understand Japanese , not to worry because the service staff can speak English . Enjoyed our stay here and will definitely come in the future .

        We booked with them be cause we got a recommendation from some friends. I’d say if you stay there, book the traditional japanese rooms, not the western ones. In our case, we found there were lacking some maintenance and deep cleaning (attaching photos). The fridge was making too much noise to even sleep so we asked for a change, the replacement fridge was better but still noisy. The toilet was broken and only was able to flush, we requested them to fix it but they didn’t do it. We asked if we could swap room for a traditional japanese one (even covering the expenses) and they refused it. The cleaning service entered once in our whole stay which has been 7 days. Location is super good as you can get walking to the Gion district or the Kyoto station. We had to do ourselves the checkin/out.

        Stayed with my partner in tatami room. Staff was very helpful and good in English, they offered qr code with the best restaurants/cafes etc nearby which really helped us. Also borrowed us some adapters. The room was very nice! Spacious for two, clean and comfy futons. Self-service laundry machine in the lobby and vending machine in the front yard. Good area to get a Round Kyoto. Also good location for ride a bike.

        You get what you pay for, certainly in Kyoto. Very affordable by Japanese standards, extremely convenient central location, and helpful English-speaking staff, but a tiny room, poorly insulated for street noise. For us (family of four) nevertheless it did the job.
