Having swum at Froggy Pond immediately across the road (my all time favourite Cape Town swim spot) I noticed Whale View Manor's signage and it included a meals icon. Yes, they offer this for non guests too, to my delight! I'd been hunting for where to take my mother to eat for her 80th birthday, and did a recce breakfast with two friends. Naturally the view was "to die for" as we South Africans say. Well deserving of local support these are the options for non overnighters: Breakfast served daily, they welcome outsiders for breakfast. Should non guests want any other meals, one needs to make prior arrangements. Coffee is always available between 8a.m. until 12p.m. Otherwise, upon arrangement.

Generally a very nice hotel with a lovely lounge and great view of the surrounding beach areas. Its just far enough from town that you won't be bothered by town noise, but also so far that you cant necessarily walk there. Main thing to note here is that the parking spaces are very tight as well as being at the top of a sleep incline. Fine for smaller cars, but bigger cars (we drove a toyota hilux) will have to ensure some nervewracking parking. There is on street parking below, but that will of course be less secure.

This review pertains only to the spa. Visited the spa on 5 August 2023. The therapists pitched up later than us. The quality of the massage and pedicure was really awful. Would not recommend this spa which is competitively priced but cannot deliver. The location of the hotel is great.

Owk..let’s do the great, the good and the bad for this review. So for this place there’s no ‘ugly’ because the place is just what it presents its self to be, a 4 star hotel. So, the bad. (I am going to start from my frown and turn it to the smile cause definitely that’s where the place left me. ) The place is ran on solar, so basically u ‘live ‘through loadshedding right😄which is one of the most important reasons why u book a place (well…mine yes). The bad part is…..u ran out of hot water in the morning because the geyser is not on and the solar didn’t ratain enough heat. So u must wait for water to be warm before yiur morning shower.👎 That’s about the only bad for the place. Be prepared to shower with cold water on a cold morning if u have plans for the morning,BUT moving on to the good. The Good. The breakfast has a couple of options that can keep you going over the stay. It’s exceptionally presented and made with so much love..the service from the staff is 4 🌟 🤩 indeed. The great, was the host ‘Ricky’,(u will see him in one of the pics)😊He basically made me want to come back and book at this place. His Professionalism,care,chats and constant checking up,made the stay a bliss.
