        Here is my experience at Windsor Plaza Copacabana. I recently stayed at Windsor Plaza Copacabana and wanted to share my experience. Upon arrival, the reception staff seemed distracted and unhelpful, not providing clear information about early check-in. Despite booking through American Express, I faced unexpected charges for the breakfast - it needed to be clarified - I am not sure whose fault this was! The front desk insisted on seeing my Brazilian passport, disregarding my American documents. The room quality was below expectations for a 4-star hotel. It was dark, with an unpleasant smell and a constant noise from the bathroom. Contrary to what I was led to believe during booking, breakfast was not included, and the pricing information provided by the staff was inconsistent and confusing. However, it wasn't all negative. The restaurant staff and cleaning personnel were incredibly kind and helpful, truly the highlight of my stay. The location in Copacabana is beautiful, though the immediate area felt unsafe. In conclusion, while there were some positive aspects, mainly due to the wonderful staff, the overall experience was okay but overpriced. I had expected more from a reputed 4-star hotel and regret to say that I won't be returning to this unit.

        Firstly the most rude and unhelpful female night manager encountered. As per the pictures the room was absolutely filthy and bathroom covered with black mould, as was the air conditioning system filter. After notifying the manager, she even come to the room and argued that it was clean and no problems- if every room in the hotel is this dirty it should be demolished and renovated. The morning staff and management team were more helpful and moved room, however the issue was not addressed by how rude she was. Breakfast was pretty sub standard, and certainly not what's expected- dinner at the hotel was a nightmare with 4 people who ordered steaks all coming out with the same order although being different types and side options chosen. The elevators buttons and descriptions of floors are extremely worn out and unable to be read. The rooftop pool was probably the best part of this hotel, great views and pool was very comfortable temperature. Great location close to Copacabana Beach, shops and shopping centre.

        If I could give zero stars I would. We are coming back to this hotel in two days and only leaving for a short local trip. We wanted to store our bags at the hotel which we were originally told wouldn’t be possible but upon arrival were told by the front desk that we could. Literally 5 minutes before we leave for our flight to Iguazu falls the hotel manager comes up to us telling us we cannot leave our bags overnight at the hotel after just the previous day front desk clerk said we could so we made no plans to store it anywhere else nor did we leave any time to find a place as our flight is at 10pm. It is 7:30 when the manager comes up to us as we are about to order our Uber telling us there’s nothing she can do to help us and we had to figure out what to do. Bringing the bags with us and checking them would’ve cost us more than what we spent on the plane tickets. We found two different places that could’ve taken our bags had the manager told us earlier that we could not keep our bags at the hotel overnight. None of the places we had looked at were an option due to how late it was and we didn’t have time to find an airport baggage check. The whole issue was handled completely unprofessionally and without any compassion. The only thing the manager did was apologize but offered no solutions to help us. She even asked us who she should call instead of giving possible resources which was ridiculous given the last minute notice of this situation. The manager also proceeded to talk about my mother to her colleagues once she left the lobby (so unprofessional!!). This could’ve easily been a misunderstanding and solved hours ago but the way it was handled demonstrated extreme incompetence and the bags being thrown at us so last minute was horrible customer service. Not to mention we gave them our bags at 7:30am, 12 hours previously to them telling us they couldn’t store it overnight. We were also sitting in the lobby for an hour, waiting for the time we needed to leave for the airport at that point. We would’ve missed our flight had it not been for two very nice people who overheard this and offered to keep our bags in their room. Also the roof has no shade and a total of 2 umbrellas and the rooms do not measure up to expected 4 star hotel quality. Overall absolutely loving Brazil but not loving this hotel. I recommend going somewhere else.

        The service was super nice, ver friendly and helpful staff once you come in. The room was good too, nothing fancy, but spacious and clean. The pool are looks better in the pictures, though people seemed to enjoy it. For another other city, the price is too high for what you get, but for Rio standards, I guess it is what it is. We never had breakfast there though. It cost 80 reais for all you can eat, and we decided that was too much. There were great breakfast options around, where we spent around 50-60 reais for a decent breakfast. So I guess it depends in how much you wanna eat.

        The room was noise due to the poor quality of the window, air conditioner was too noise, we had to tornoff, a light was flashing on the bed all night…. I don’t think that it is a 4 stars hotel!
