We were staying nearby and woke up to the temple bells. Curious about the bells we visited the shrine and discovered it was "Shinran's Day", which is observed once each month. The temple complex is free to enter and very large, but not crowded like some other large sites. There is a shop and café in one of the modern buildings.

Located in central Kyoto. It's free to visit and comparatively very interesting because I paid other temples which are not worth visiting by payment but this temple is definitely beautiful. If you have time you shouldn't miss this wonder. A very beautiful example of wood craftsmanship.

Nishi Honganji is a Jōdo Shinshū Buddhist temple. It serves as the head temple of the sub-sect Honganji-ha. The original Hongan-ji was established as a temple in 1321 in the different location. In its current location was founded in 1591. Among complex attractions are: 1/ Founder's Hall (Goeidō) with statue of Shinran, the founder of Jōdo Shinshū as a primary object of worship. Hall was constructed between 1880 and 1895, after previous building burned down. It is one of the largest wooden structures in the world (it is 76 m long, 58 m wide and 38 m tall), it can accommodate up to 3000 people at one time. 2/ The Karamon gate built probably around 1598 and moved to Nishi Hongan-ji in 1632. It has many quality carvings with images of flowers, animals and fantastic figures, for example legendary hermit Xu You beside a waterfall, a farmer cleaning his ox. 3/ The "Amida Hall" rebuilt in 1760 and measuring 45 by 42 metres, with a height on 25 metres. It houses a sculpture of Amida Buddha. Nishi Hongan-ji was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994, as part of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto. The Temple is open from 05:30 to 17:00. Admission is free.

Very beautiful temple with various inside areas that are visually stunning. It’s also free which weirdly means there are no crowds as everyone thinks the paid places are the only good ones which isn’t true!

A street far from East temple. A big ginkgo tree inside. I saw a monk guiding a group of people. Monk also chanting here.

Booking Policy

It is mandatory for all guests to present valid government photo ID’s at the time of check-in.

The primary guests check-in into the hotel must meet the age requirements set by either the local government or the hotel’s policies.

Extra guests are subject to availability. And it might incur additional charges.

If guests are traveling with a child or children, it is necessary to specify the number of children accompanying them during the hotel booking process to avoid any last-minute complications.

Underage guests are only allowed to check-in with at least one parent or official guardian who fulfils the age requirements set by either the local government or the hotel’s policies.

Early check-in or late check-out request is subject to availability and the hotel may charge an additional fee for providing such services.

The price paid to Adani One includes room charges, taxes, the specified inclusions mentioned during the booking and convenience fee, if appliable. It does not cover additional services and expenses at the hotel.

Taxes, levies, charges, and any similar government fees, if applicable, will be imposed by the relevant authorities in the jurisdiction where the hotel is located. The guest is responsible for paying all such charges, as applicable.

Hotel Cancellation Policy

User can cancel their booking through the Adani One website or app until the check-in date and time. The refund for such cancellations will be subject to the hotel's cancellation policy. Adani One has no say over the refund amount.

Users can only cancel the entire booking. Partial cancellations, such as canceling specific room(s), a portion of the total nights, or specific guests out of the entire group, are not permitted.

User should not cancel the booking directly with the hotel. If a user cancels the booking directly with the hotel, Adani One will not be responsible for any refund.

Cancellation requests made through the online platform or via phone calls are the only valid and accepted methods.

Any cancellation requests made directly to the hotel will not be the responsibility of Adani One.

If you fail to cancel your reservation within the designated cancellation period, as specified by the hotel you booked, you will be responsible for paying the applicable nightly rates, tax recovery charges, and service fees imposed by the hotel. If you do not show up for the first night of your reservation but still plan to check in for the remaining nights, you must inform Adani One of any changes to your reservation no later than the scheduled arrival date for the first night. This is necessary to prevent the cancellation of your entire reservation.

Modification and Reschedule Policy

Once the booking is initiated, the user can’t change the name of primary guest, number of guests, age of child/children, number of rooms, and check-in/check-out date and time.

After the booking is confirmed, user will need to cancel their existing booking to create a new one to make any changes such as updating the primary guest, modifying the number of guests, specifying the age of child/children, adjusting the number of rooms, or changing the check-in/check-out date and time etc.
