But be warned, at other times of the year, temperatures in this desert region can reach extreme highs of up to 45 degrees Celsius during summers. Heavy rainfall can make the area inaccessible during monsoons.

The hill is also known as the highest point in the Kutch region. The best time to visit Kala Dungar is during sunset when the sky turns into shades of orange and pink.

Don't miss bajre ka rotla which is another type of flatbread made with pearl millet flour that is usually served with ghee and garlic chutney.
