Nestled on a beautiful hilltop, Gajalee Seafood Restaurant beckons with its aesthetically pleasing decor and mouth-watering seafood delicacies. Here, I indulged in a seafood feast that left my taste buds tantalised. From the fiery schezwan and tandoori lobsters to the succulent crab, butter pepper pomfret, and bombil fry, every bite left me wanting for more. However, it was the clam koshimbir, cooked in green masala, that secured its place as my top-rated dish at Gajalee. They served the lip-smacking dish along with a glass of red wine. Overall, I was elated by the restaurant's food and service and was also impressed by their decadent food and beverage offerings. Adding to the allure of Gajalee are its big French windows that infuse the place with an elegant ambience. They not only lend the bungalow a rather classy look but also offer spectacular views of the surrounding area. As I sat there enjoying my meal, I couldn't help but be enchanted by the superb food and scenic views. I was in awe of the place!
I had the pleasure of eating at Sanadige Fine Dining Restaurant in Mangalore, and it was one of my best dining experiences. The ambience exuded elegance and the tasteful decor added a touch of luxury to the setting. As a person who loves coastal cuisine, I found the food to be exquisite, capturing the essence of Mangalore's culinary heritage. The staff was courteous, knowledgeable, and attentive to my needs. If there is one word to describe the seafood at Sanadige, it's delicious! The seafood here needs a special mention and so does the impeccable presentation. The highlight of my meal was the alambu arepu, which was cooked to perfection, and the spices were perfectly balanced.
Another dish that got my taste buds tingling was the Mangalorean curry. This is served accompanied by your choice of crab—Mamsa, Silver Fish, Manji, etc. The crabs are found on their special Coast of Kudla menu. I paired these dishes with punar puli, which is a refreshing kokum sherbet. If you visit the restaurant, don't forget to look for these items in their food and beverage menu. You will need all the advice you can get because Sanadige's menu is a whopping 19-page booklet. The restaurant also has an excellent selection of drinks, with cocktails crafted to perfection. Overall, Sanadige exceeded my expectations and is a must-visit for anyone looking for an upscale dining experience in Mangalore.
Tucked away right behind Jyoti Cinema and close to KMC, Pallkhi lives up to its name and boasts of decor as beautiful as its name. What sets Pallkhi apart is that it has been lauded as one of the ‘Best Restaurants in India' by NDTV. During my visit to Pallkhi, I enjoyed a soothing glass of wine with kadai prawns, mutton Banarasi, tangdi kebab, chicken kurkure, and khatte meethe aloo. All the while, I found myself taking in the stunning views of the downtown area. The ambience at Pallkhi exudes class and sophistication. Although I was dining alone, I concluded that this was the perfect place to bring along a date. The staff is friendly and also offer to arrange intimate candlelight dinners for couples. If there's a special someone in your life, be sure to visit Pallkhi with them.
My recent visit to Kabab Studio left me mindblown! That's how delicious their food was. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by the restaurant's welcoming ambience. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I started with their renowned kebab platter, which was an assortment of deliciously grilled meats and vegetables. It was the perfect start to my meal. I also had the pleasure of savouring their fragrant and flavourful biryani, complemented by fresh and fluffy naan. As a North Indian, I can confirm that the biryani at this place was the best I've ever had in the South.
The highlight of my experience was the gulab jamun, which was soft and syrupy. Its lip-smacking flavour and sweetness will remain in my memory for a long time. The menu at Kabab Studio is extraordinary, offering a diverse variety of dishes from Chinese to Indian cuisine. The restaurant also features live music performances. In addition to this, it has a bar, buffet options, and indoor seating. The view from the Studio adds another layer of allure to the dining experience. Overall, Kabab Studio is a must-visit for those who love Indian cuisine and want to experience it at its best.
Madhuvans Village left a distinct impression on me, and I'll tell you why. Rarely do I encounter a place that invokes such a profound sense of simplicity and nostalgia, but this place managed to evoke these emotions simultaneously. From mud walls to thatched roofs, the entire feel of the restaurant teleported me to an instance from my childhood when I was eight years old—the time I visited my grandmother. It reminded me of a time when everything was magical, when I didn’t have to drag myself out of bed every day to make sense of the world.Returning to the restaurant itself, the rustic yet comfortable ambience caters to the needs of most customers. From offering valet parking and well-lit rooms to an impressive variety of food and beverages, Madhuvans offers a lovely dining experience. The Murgh at this fine dining place is truly worth a visit. So, please do!
The menu boasts a range of cuisines, including Chinese, Indian, Mughlai, and Continental. I ordered dishes from each of these; it was tough to pick a favourite because everything was so delicious! Although Madhuvans caters to all tastes, it holds the Mangalorean culinary tradition close to its heart. Hence, Madhuvans is also a seafood restaurant at its core. This is evident the minute you set your eyes on the live crab counter.Don't miss their other hot favourites, such as junglee kebab, chicken sizzler, Taiwan chicken, murgh ghee roast with butter naan, and more!
Apart from their carefully curated food and beverage offerings, one of the remarkable aspects of fine dining in Mangalore is that every restaurant has a sense of local flavours that they love to mix with influences from other cities and even nations. I love how they incorporate diverse cultural elements under a single roof, all while staying true to the essence of the local experience.
