Located on Benaulim Beach, along the southwest coast of Goa, the Taj Exotica Resort & Spa offers commanding views of the Arabian Sea. Late in the afternoon, when I arrived at the beach resort, I was immediately left awestruck by its stunning setting. Spread over 56 acres of lush green grounds, the resort sat like a tranquil oasis along its private stretch of sand. At that moment, I could already tell that the sunset views here would be truly magnificient.
I marvelled at the Mediterranean-inspired design of the beach resort, with its charming patios and a sun-filled atrium. I was recommended the Premium Room (Sea View), which affords exquisite vistas of the Arabian Sea. The sight from the verandah was nothing short of breathtaking.
The room was spacious and was equipped with all the standard modern amenities, including a large flat-screen T.V., a Blu-Ray DVD player, a tea/coffee maker, a minibar, 24-hour in-room dining, and newspapers. The best feature was a luxuriant bathtub, perfect for rejuvenating after a day of exploration.
The Taj Exotica Resort & Spa offers a variety of cultural tours, including explorations of the backwaters, Reis Mago Fort, and the Mapusa Market. However, the adrenaline junkie in me did not want to miss out on the local water sports opportunities. I opted for scuba diving and had a thrilling experience with attentive, safety-conscious instructors, who made sure I had a safe and enjoyable experience.

Situated at an elevation of 2,000 ft above sea level, the Taj Falaknuma Palace is a luxurious hilltop hotel located in the neighbourhood of Engine Bowli in Hyderabad. Constructed in 1884 by the sixth Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Mahboob Ali Khan, this former palace was converted into a top-range hotel in 2010.
The word Falaknuma translates to "Mirror of Sky" in Urdu—a name that perfectly captures the hotel's incredible location. Walking through the grand entrance of the Taj Falaknuma Palace, I was instantly transported to the bygone era of royal splendour. As evening descended, a spectacular panorama unfolded before me—the city lights twinkled like stars in the twilight hour, visible from my elevated perch atop the hill.
The Taj Falaknuma Palace is counted among the best five-star hotels in Hyderabad. Staying at this plush property, spanning 32 acres, is like taking a journey to the era of the Nizams. A tour of the hotel took me past the Durbar Hall, the Jade Room, and a splendid dining hall adorned with Belgian chandeliers, along with gardens and terraces.
The hotel has 60 rooms and suites, with features such as canopied beds, oak wood floors, and wall motifs. Each room and suite affords a bird's-eye view of the city or of the lovely courtyard area.
Tariff: The rate for a Palace Room Garden View (sleeps up to four guests) starts at around Rs. 40,120 per night (net). The Royal Suite is priced at Rs. 1,20,360 per night (net), while the Nizam Suite costs Rs. 7,10,360 per night (net). The hotel offers a variety of meal plans, including a breakfast buffet, a half-board plan, and a full-board plan.
Amenities: The Taj Falaknuma Palace hosts live qawwali performances every evening. It has a well-stocked library with rare books. There is also an outdoor pool, a world-class spa, a billiards room, a 24-hour fitness centre, babysitting facility, as well as restaurants and bars. The hotel provides 24-hour butler and concierge services.
Nestled in the heart of Rishikesh, EllBee Ganga View is known for its striking views of the Ganges and the surrounding hills. My stay at this boutique art hotel in Rishikesh turned out to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The hotel is located in a tranquil setting, yet it remains in proximity to the city centre, ensuring easy accessibility. It is around 16 km from the Jolly Grand Airport and 24 km from the Haridwar Railway Station. The nearest bus stand is 1.5 km away.
Upon arriving at the hotel, I settled into a Premier Suite, featuring a full-scale glass panel, affording an uninterrupted view of the Ganges against the backdrop of the Rajaji National Park. The cosy room boasted a king-size bed, a 40-inch LED TV, a minibar, and an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub. The early-morning view of the river, shimmering in the golden rays of the sun, remains an unforgettable memory.
In addition to its scenic allure, EllBee Ganga View offers a variety of adventure activities, including river rafting, trekking, and yoga sessions. Following a day of sightseeing, I found solace at the hotel's open-air rooftop cafe, where I relished a meal and a cup of tea while taking in the views of the flowing river. All in all, I had a fantastic stay here.
