About Paris
Paris has always been associated with romanticised stereotypes of the Eiffel Tower piercing the sky, soft murmurs of the French language in pretty cafés, and the rich scent of freshly bloomed croissants. Known as “The City of Light,” this French capital is both a mask of history and art as well as life. Here, old architecture integrates with the new trends in fashion, or art becomes compatible with gourmet.
Paris is much more than a city; it is an exploration that commences from its road. Every street and alleyway tells a history of bravery, revolution, and art. Paris is in the brain at the same time; just one step is equal to an epoch. Study centuries-old stained glass and marvel at the lulling centauro-crowed towers soaring almost 70 meters onto the roof of Notre-Dame Cathedral while trying to dodge the gargoyles’ gaze that seems to blend the entire metropolis.
There may have been many exhibitions focussing on various visual designs, Paris being a beacon assembly point for patrons and artists. Anywhere else, the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo are displayed, and though galleries of classics exist to be populated, more than one gallery has the most enormous Van Gogh’s collections, almost 30 minutes away.
But of course, the Parisian art of gastronomy is well beyond the act of just eating. Start your morning with a flaky croissant or a pain au chocolat from your local boulangerie. For lunch, go to a real bistrot and soulfully relish a plate of coq au vin or boeuf bourguignon. Then try a nibble of Escargot, a quintessentially French luxury. For dessert, a dainty little macaron or a decadent wedge of tarte tatin completes your meal.
Although Paris might have a metropolitan groove, it also provides little pockets of peace and calm. Jardin du and enjoy the thrilling view of the well-kempt lawns to take a nap before you reconquer the city. A manicured park is regular; however, an elevated park constructed on a deserted railway line provides a view that more parks cannot parallel. Trot along the Promenade Plantée and watch the town below as its native citizens pass time playing while you partake in your Parisian evening.
As twilight descends, Paris transforms with illuminated streets leading to vibrant nightlife spots. Enjoy a glass of wine by the Seine as you watch boats glide by or attend a show at Moulin Rouge for an evening filled with glitz and glamor. If you prefer something quieter, a nocturnal walk through illuminated Louvre courtyards can be magical.
