And once the terminal was built and the inauguration was done, the stars aligned for me, and I decided to travel to Lucknow for work. The Lucknow airport, also known as the Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport (CCSIA), has undergone a remarkable transformation. As a frequent traveller to Lucknow, I recently had the opportunity to explore the new Terminal 3 at the Lucknow Airport and check out the mesmerizing architecture which has left me spellbound.
Terminal 3 of the Lucknow Airport has been built at a staggering cost of Rs 2,400 crore. And it shows in the modernity and grandeur of the terminal. Upon entering, I was greeted by an out-of-this-world audio-visual experience, showcasing the art and architecture of Uttar Pradesh. From the entry gates to the skylight, every corner exudes the rich cultural heritage of the region, immersing passengers in a journey through time.
Holding on to the roots: One of the most captivating features that caught my eye at Terminal 3 is the illuminated motifs adorning the check-in counters. The intricate 'Chikankari' and 'Mukaish' embroidery of Lucknow added a touch of elegance and charm to the terminal. As I made my way through the check-in process, I couldn't help but admire the graphics on the frosting depicting stories from epics like the Ramayana and Mahabharata, truly making every step of the journey a visual delight.
Convenience for the passengers: The beauty of Terminal 3 extends beyond its aesthetic appeal. With 72 check-in counters, including 17 for self-baggage drop, and 62 immigration counters, it was a breeze for frequent commuters like me to board and deboard the flight. The new terminal ensures swift and smooth transit of passengers.
In addition to its state-of-the-art amenities, Terminal 3 embraces cutting-edge technologies to simplify travel. From DigiYatra to common-use self-service kiosks and advanced baggage screening machines, every aspect of the terminal is designed to enhance passenger experience and ensure a seamless journey from check-in to boarding.
If you are the Lucknow airport and your stomach growls, mind you, this is the place to be. There is a magnitude of options available at the Lucknow Airport for you to explore. But what I liked was the Adani One portal where you can pre-order from the listed restaurants like The Mithai Box, which offers South Indian snacks and Indian Sweets. There’s House Of Candy and Cocoart which sell Candies-Confectionery & Chocolates and for Indian snacks and sweets, there is Chhappan Bhog. But, if you are already at the airport, you must explore fast food outlets like KFC, Pizza Hut & Wow Momos. I got so many candies for my niece and nephew from the Cocoart. They had my package packed and ready to be picked up.
